Kevin Meehan Tin Whistle

Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, Kevin Meehan is widely recognised both at home and internationally as one of the finest tin whistle players and a leading composer of contemporary Irish music.

Kevin’s debut album, Spanish Point (2020), was praised by Irish Music Magazine as an “exquisite collaboration of sound.” His original compositions from Spanish Point and the follow-up project Solar Grove have received extensive national airplay on RTÉ Radio 1 and BBC Radio Ulster.

In 2024, Kevin launched two original singles and music videos — Rust From The Storm and Pontoon — as part of his latest musical venture, Solar Grove, capturing the attention of thousands of listeners online.

Kevin's growing influence in Irish music education is marked by his inclusion as a featured artist in the Junior Certificate Irish curriculum, through the Mol an Óige 1 schoolbook (2nd Edition). In March 2025, District Magazine featured Kevin in an online instagram article as one of 12 renowned Irish acts keeping trad alive and well.

In 2025, Kevin’s Solar Grove live band made its debut to a full house at Howth Trad Fest, further cementing his status as a dynamic performer and innovative voice in the Irish traditional scene.
